LECTURES

In this week's follow-up class, Mr. Martin showed and commented on the dynamic video of words made by his classmates. The teacher affirmed the video produced by our group and put forward some suggestions at the same time. This project is a complete success.

INTRODUCTION

Exercise 1: Kinetic Typography

Core elements:

The dynamic effect of words needs to serve the information structure of songs and should have basic guidance and readability. Secondly, the dynamic effect must have a sense of rhythm and cooperate with the song. At the same time, in terms of expression, the dynamic effect of words and the overall picture should be semantically consistent with the content of lyrics (that is, the visual language related to songs is established through dynamic effect, and the unified dynamic effect style is also helpful to improve the professionalism of the overall design. ), which can strengthen understanding and transform abstract words into more intuitive visual experience.

In this task, we are arranged to make lyrics typesetting. In the first class, we were arranged in a group. Of course, we not only completed this task, but also made PPT together in class to complete the questions raised by the teacher.

First, we need to choose songs. The team leader intends to choose by voting. Almost everyone in the what's up group provided a favorite song. After discussion and voting, we finally chose BIBI-The Weekend. This song has a strong sense of rhythm, full of movement, and is very resistant to listening, which is very suitable for word movement.

Next, after the arrangement of the group leader, every member of the group was arranged with the lyrics that need to be produced. The lyrics I was assigned are these:

Before starting the production, the team leader discussed with the team members in class and prepared to provide more detailed information. She made mood board for our reference, such as the overall color system of the video, the elements and materials used, the color change of the background, the style of the font, the dynamic effect displayed and so on.

As we are working in a group, the content we do also needs to be combined with the upper and lower parts, which means that our style should be unified. However, the team leader said that we can give full play to our own ideas, and it is feasible if the styles of each part are not very consistent, which can better highlight personal characteristics and finally show special effects. Of course, the parts should not be too separated.

According to the mood board provided by the team leader, I began to make the dynamic effect of the lyrics of the part I was assigned. According to the swatch we chose after our previous discussion, we changed the font color, made some text styles and added background styles, but we haven't added animation and specific lyrics yet. In the process of making, I went to find some video references and downloaded some green screen materials. According to the reference provided by the team leader, I added some elements to enrich the video content. In this process, I added audio and calibrated it with animation, that is, I completed the synchronization of sound and picture.

After completing this part of my responsibility, I uploaded it to the Google Drive link provided by the team leader. At first, my mood was rather uneasy, and I didn't know whether the part I made could be recognized. Finally, the team leader affirmed the content I made, and I felt very happy. What I have to do next is to wait for other team members to finish their responsibilities, and finally the team leader will put these scattered parts together.

After several weeks of preparation and production, our team successfully completed this project. In class, Mr. Martin showed our achievements and affirmed them. At the same time, he raised some questions and the team members answered them.

Exercise 2: Animation Chart

According to the data provided in the requirements and the case given, I completed this task with the tutorial. Finally, I uploaded the output video to YouTube.

Exercise 3: Vector/Character Animation

Core elements:

In the process of making dynamic graphics, the previous layer structure is the basis of realizing effective animation. All visual elements that need to move must be split in Illustrator and placed in independent layers to ensure controllable animation properties in post-software (such as After Effects).

The basic construction of animation depends on three core transformation attributes, namely, Position, Scale and Rotation. By setting the Keyframes of these attributes, most basic motion forms can be realized and clear time series changes can be constructed.

In addition, the position of Anchor Point has a decisive influence on the sports effect. Adjusting the anchor point reasonably (for example, moving it from the center to the joint position) can significantly improve the naturalness and realism of the action, which is one of the key factors to realize high-quality animation. Generally speaking, the realization of dynamic graphics depends on structured layer management, key frame control mechanism and understanding of motion logic.

Finally, according to the text tutorial and video tutorial provided by Mr. Martin, I began to make small animations. Firstly, the graphics in the vector file are divided into groups, and the graphics are moved in AE. The D version of the document is about a working person, so I chose to move my arms and hands to create an atmosphere in which he is working. For the wall clock on the wall, I moved the hands to express the passage of time. At the same time, I also made dynamic pictures of the small elements around and the plants next to them, making the picture more vivid. After finishing the overall video production, I uploaded it to YouTube.

REFLECTION

Experience

The successful completion of the team project is inseparable from the participation and responsibility of each member. In this process, we need to ensure that all parts are visually coherent and unified, especially in font, color and overall style. At the same time, it is also very important to have a certain divergence of thinking, which will help us to associate and better arrange the content in the picture.

Observation

In the process of making animation, I found that time control and rhythm are very important. If the animation speed is not appropriate, the audience may not understand the content clearly. Moreover, the graphic structure is also very important. If the structure is chaotic, it will become very difficult to make animation, which will also affect the production efficiency.

Findings

Through this project, I understand that dynamic design can enhance the effect of information transmission. Animation can not only increase the visual appeal, but also help the audience to gradually understand the information, such as data visualization or text emphasis. This project has taught me the basic process from static design to dynamic design.
